Dolores Kurjan opened Vintage Jewelers at 125 College Street in October. The new store features fine estate jewelry, with a focus on period and vintage pieces. “I’m excited to be able to present another option for the estate jewelry collector and lover,” Kurjan said. Platinum, high karat gold, diamonds, sapphires, rubies, and wedding jewelry are offered. “I know the joy that a special piece can bring to someone else, so it can be really rewarding,” she said.

In addition, the brick walls of the store showcase Vermont artists. Vintage Jewelers is a participating venue in the First Friday Art Walk and Nicole Kircher of Newport will display her mixed media artwork during November and December.

“Purchasing vintage jewelry is ecologically friendly because it promotes the concept of recycling and reusing,” said the 46-year-old entrepreneur. Vintage Jewelers is open Monday-Thursday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m.- 7 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. For more information, call 862-2233 or e-mail
